Job Summary:

The Pre-Sales Engineer stays current with vendor-specific technical certifications in order to make appropriate recommendations to resellers on the configuration and design of system solutions.

Promotes product awareness, provides pre-sales technical support including phone support, system diagrams, proposals, and training in order to grow the sales of a funding vendor's product line.

Works closely with our Product Manager and the funding vendor's representatives to execute marketing activities.

Establishes and develops solid business relationships with vendors, our customers and other internal departments.

Identifies opportunities to improve the quality of Systems Engineering engagement with inside and outside customers. Accepts ownership of suggested improvements and works with our team & vendor, through the Systems Engineering Management to develop an implementation plan.

Working Experience:

3+ years of Technical Support experience with PC's, high-end servers, local area networks, and associated components with at least 1+ year in phone support environment.
1+ year of Vendor Relations experience in a presales vendor support role ( not indispensable)
1+ year of experience in formal Product Presentations and/or technical sales training experience to small and medium audiences.(Or good comunication Skills)
Previous trade show experience.

Minimum Educational/Certifications Requirements:

High School Diploma/GED plus the established minimum requirements for the position.
Minimum of one current major certification recognized by the Systems Engineering Department (currency must be maintained), with a strong commitment to continued development of technical skills as evidenced by additional certifications or demonstrated expertise on a relevant technology or product line.
